The State Government of Tamil Nadu Published the List of Public Holidays for 2019

As per Negotiable Instruments Act, the Tamil Nadu Government has declared 23 public holidays to all group of state government employees and officers including co-operative banks for the year 2019.

The State Government of Tamil Nadu declared Holiday on 5th November, 2018
TN State Government has issued order for declaring a local Holiday on 5th November, 2018 due to the festival of Diwali.
The Holiday declaration is not based on Negotiable Instruments Act. Employees should come for duty on 10th November, 2018 instead of the above said holiday.

The nature’s fury has affected beyond anyone’s imagination the “God’s own Country”, a state in which 100% literacy has been achieved and extended lot of support to the National Economy through foreign inward remittance. For the past ten days, the force of the flood water has brought the normal life stand still.
The State Government has sounded red alert to all the 14 Districts in the State of Kerala. Educational Institutions have been shut down. Kochi airport is under water and closed for operation upto Sunday. So far, it is reported that 1.5 lakhs people have been lodged in the relief camps. The National festival of “ONAM” celebrations have been cancelled. Loss of human lives, halt of transport facilities “Rail” and “Air” and also common men requirements are thrown to winds.

TN State Government has declared a public holiday on 8th August


DMK President M Karunanidhi Passes Away
DMK Chief and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi passed away this evening in Chennai.

The TN State Government has declared a public holiday on 8th August, 2018. Government Offices including Schools and Colleges to remain closed on 8.8.2018 (Wednesday).

President Ram Nath Kovind said in a message that he is extremely sad to learn about M Karunanidhi’ death.
Mr Kovind termed Mr Karunaidhi as a doyen of public life, a contributor to the development of Tamil Nadu and of India.
Vice President Venkaiya Naidu described Karunanidhi as one of theleading and longstanding politicians of the country who left a mark of his ownduring his long public life of about 80 years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his message said the country has lost adeep-rooted mass leader, prolific thinker, accomplished writer and a stalwartwhose life was devoted to the welfare of the poor and the marginalised.
Mr Modi said he stood for regional aspirations as well as nationalprogress and he was steadfastly committed to the welfare of Tamils and ensuredthat Tamil Nadu’s voice was effectively heard.
The Prime Minister said his thoughts are with the family and the countless supporters of Karunanidhi in this hour of grief. He said country and particularly Tamil Nadu will miss him immensely.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Chennai tomorrow morning today his last respects to Kalaignar Karunanidhi.
