Extension of Maternity leave period for female teaching and non-teaching employees of Govt. Aided Secondary Schools

MEMORANDUM

   Under Memorandum No. 1146-F(P) dated 14.02.2011 the State Government has extended the period of Maternity leave to female State Government employees for a maximum period of 180 days subject to existing terms and conditions with effect from 1.1.2011.
Accordingly it has been felt necessary to extend the same benefit to the female teaching and non-teaching employees of Government Aided Schools.

   Now, therefore, in exercise of the power conferred by Sub-section (1) and Sub-Section (2) (d) of Section 45 of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Act, 1963 (West Bengal Act V of 1963), the Governor is hereby pleased to make the following amendment to the Management of Recognized Non-Government Institutions (Aided and Unaided) Rules, 1969 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules):-

AMENDMENT

In the appendix to the said rules, for the Sub—Rule (1) of Rule 8, substitute the following Sub-Rule :-

“(1) A female teacher or non-teaching employee may be granted maternity leave on full average pay for a period of 180 days from the date of its commencement.”

This Order is deemed to have taken effect from 1.01.2011.

This Memorandum is issued in supersession of earlier Notification No. 444- SE(S) dated 22.03.2004.
