Canara Bank, a leading Public Sector Bank with Head Office in Bengaluru and global presence with over 6300 branches, invites ON-LINE APPLICATIONS, from the eligible candidates to apply for admissions to the specially designed One year training course leading to Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF) either through Manipal Global Education Services Pvt Ltd., Bengaluru or NITTE Education International Pvt Ltd., Greater Noida, which are recognized by UGC.

The course comprises of 9 months of classroom studies and 3 monthsinternship at Canara Bank’s Branches / Offices.

This one year full-time PGDBF course will be conducted either at Manipal Global Education Services Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru campus or NITTE Education International Pvt Ltd. Greater Noida campus.

The programme is fully residential during 9 months classroom studies and the selected candidates should necessarily stay in the campus

Candidates will be selected for admission to the course at either of the above two institutes through selection process consisting of online objective test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. On successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded with “Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF)” from that institute and the candidates would be offered appointment in the Bank as Probationary Officer in Junior Management Grade Scale-I.

UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION COMBINED MEDICAL SERVICES EXAMINATION, 2018

On the basis of the result of the written part of the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2018 held by the U.P.S.C. on 22.07.2018 the candidates with the under mentioned Roll Numbers have qualified for Interview/Personality Test.

2. The candidature of these candidates is PROVISIONAL subject to their being found eligible in all respects. The candidates would be required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims relating to age, educational qualifications, community, physical disability (where applicable) etc. at the time of the Personality Test. They are, therefore, advised to keep their certificates ready and check before hand the requirement of certificates in accordance with the important instructions available on the website of the Commission before appearing for the Personality Test.

3. In accordance with the Rules of Examination, all these candidates are required to fill up the Detailed Application Form (D.A.F.), which will be made available on the Commission’s Website i.e. http;//www.upsc.gov.in; from 13.09.2018 to 27.09.2018 till 06:00 PM. Important instructions regarding filling up of the DAF and submitting the same ONLINE to the Commission will also be made available on the website. The candidates who have been declared successful have to first get themselves registered on the relevant page of the Commission’s website before filling up the ONLINE DAF and submit the same ONLINE alongwith uploading of the scanned copies of relevant certificates/documents in support of their eligibility, claim for reservation etc. The qualified candidates are further advised to refer to the Rules of the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2018 published in the egazette of India, dated 02.05.2018.

4. The instruction for filling up the DAF and Rules of the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2018, must be read carefully with regard to the certificates that will be produced at the time of Interview. The candidates will be solely responsible for not producing sufficient proof in support of his/her age, date of birth, educational qualification, caste (SC/ST/OBC) and physical disability certificate (in the case of PWD candidates). In case any of the written qualified candidate fails to bring any or all the required original documents in support of his/her candidature for the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2018, he/she will not be allowed to present himself/herself before the PT Board and no TA will be allowed. 27th August, 2018/ 05 Bhadrapada, Saka, 1940

5. Schedule of the Interview of candidates, who have qualified for the Personality Test, will be uploaded on the Commission’s website in due course of time. The exact date of interview will, however, be intimated to the candidates through e-Summon Letter. The candidates are requested to visit the Commission’s website (http://www.upsc.gov.in) for updates in this regard.

6. No request for change in the date and time of Personality Test intimated to the candidates will ordinarily be entertained under any circumstances.

7. The mark-sheet of candidates, who have not qualified, will be uploaded on the Commission’s website after the publication of final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the website for a period of 30 days.

8. The candidates can access the marks-sheets after keying in their Roll Numbers and date of birth. The printed/hard copies of the marks-sheet would, however, be issued by UPSC to candidates based on specific request accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope. Candidates desirous of obtaining printed/hard copies of the marks sheets should make the request within thirty days of the display of the marks on the Commission’s website, beyond which such requests would not be entertained.

9. Union Public Service Commission has a Facilitation Counter at its campus. Candidates may obtain any information/clarification regarding their examination/result on working days between 10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M in person or over telephone Nos. (011)-23385271/23381125/23098543 from this counter.

(a) to (d): Employment generation coupled with improving employability is the priority concern of the Government. Further, Government runs various employment generation schemes for beneficiaries like Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) implemented by Ministry of Micro, Small &Medium Enterprises, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA), Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) scheme run by Ministry of Rural Development, and Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) implemented by Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna is a scheme to extend collateral free loans below Rs. 10 Lakh in the non agricultural sector to individuals to enable them to set up or expand their business activities and to generate self employment.

In order to improve the employability of youth, around 22 Ministries/Departments run skill development schemes across various sectors. Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana has been initiated by the Ministry of Labour and Employment in the year 2016-17 for incentivizing employers for promoting employment generation. Under this scheme, Government is paying the entire employer’s contribution (12 % or as admissible) towards the EPS and EPF for all sectors w.e.f. 01.04.2018 to all eligible new employees and is applicable for all sectors for the next 3 years. (e): Yes, Sir. (f) to (h): Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is implementing a flagship scheme known as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal VikasYojana (PMKVY) on pan–India basis. PMKVY enables large number of prospective youth for taking Short Term Training (STT) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) through accredited and affiliated training centers. PMKVY has two components known as Centrally Sponsored Centrally Managed (CSCM) being implemented by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Centrally Sponsored State Managed (CSSM) being implemented by State Skill Development Missions of the States/ UTs popularly known as State- Engagement Component of PMKVY (2016-20).

Further, under CSSM component of PMKVY 2016-20, 25% of the funds and corresponding physical targets of PMKVY 2016-20 has been allocated to the States for imparting skill development training. Under this component, skill development training is running in 1,080 training centres across 27 States.

(a): As per the results of available labour force surveys on Employment-Unemployment conducted by Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment, the estimated unemployment rate for persons aged 15 years & above on usual status basis in urban areas in the country during 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2015-16 was 5.3%, 4.9% and 4.4% respectively.

(b) & (c): Employment generation coupled with improving employability is the priority concern of the Government. Government has taken various steps for generating employment in the country like fast-tracking various projects involving substantial investment and increasing public expenditure on schemes like Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) and Deendyal Antodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM).

Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) has been launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment for incentivising employers for promoting employment generation. Under this scheme, Government is paying entire employer’s contribution (12% or as admissible) towards EPF and EPS for all eligible new employees for all sectors for 3 years. Till 30th July, 2018, the scheme covered 76908 establishments and 61.37 lakh beneficiaries.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) has been initiated by Government for facilitating self-employment. Under PMMY collateral free loans uptoRs. 10 lakh, are extended to small/micro business enterprises and to individuals to enable them to setup or expand their business activities. Under PMMY, the number of loans sanctioned during 2015-16 to 2017-18 were 12.27 crore, out of which 3.49 crore were new entrepreneurs.

Filling 2 Million Vacancies in Various Departments

Filling two million vacancies in various departments

Filling up of vacancies in various Government offices, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and other departments is a continuous process.

The vacant posts in Government Ministries/ Departments are required to be filled as per the Recruitment Rules for them.

Recruitment to various posts in Government of India is made through various recruitment agencies constituted for the purpose such as Union Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission, etc. Ministries/Departments and the recruitment agencies have been sensitized to take all the required steps for filling up of the posts within the time line.

Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) is the nodal department for Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) (excluding Banks and Financial/ Insurance organizations), CPSEs are under the administrative control of their respective Ministry/ Department. The employment in CPSEs depends upon their requirement as per their expansion/ investment plan. Further, CPSEs are having their own policy for recruitment for below the Board level posts under broad guidelines issued by the Government from time to time.

In order to give wider publicity to the notification of vacancies, Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) in November, 2016 decided that advertisement of vacancies shall now be mandatorily placed at the National Career Service (NCS) Portal, developed by Ministry of Labour and Employment. This will be in addition to other procedures as notified earlier.

As per the Annual Report on Pay and Allowances of Central Government Civilian Employees, the number of vacant posts in position in various Ministries/Departments is 4,12,752 out of total sanctioned strength of 36,33,935 as on 01.03.2016.
