Digital certificates/marksheets to be given to students of CBSE affiliated schools

As a special gesture to students from CBSE affiliated schools, whose board exam academic documents such as Marksheets/ Migration Certificates/ Pass Certificates have been lost or damaged in the Kerala floods, the Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to facilitate and provide digital mark sheets, migration certificates and pass certificates. Over 1,300 schools are affiliated to the CBSE in Kerala. Board exam academic documents are crucial for admission for higher studies and employment etc.

CBSE, in technical collaboration with NeGD, developed its own and first of its kind digital academic repository called ‘Parinam Manjusha’. This academic repository has been integrated with DigiLocker.

The digital academic documents being provided through Parinam Manjusha/ DigiLocker are digitally signed using digital signature of Controller of Examinations of CBSE which make them legally valid digital document as per the IT Act. These documents are also having PKI based QR codes and such documents can be verified for the authenticity using the DigiLocker mobile app.

How to get digital academic documents such as Mark Sheets/Migration Certificates/Pass Certificates from CBSE’s Academic Repository Parinam Manjusha:

1. The students can visit Parinam Manjusha website https://cbse.digitallocker.gov.in and download their academic documents using the login-id / password provided at the time of declaration of results on their registered mobile nos.

2. In order to facilitate the students again, the CBSE will re-send login-id and password of Parinam Manjusha/DigiLocker pertaining to students of the year 2016-2018 on their mobile nos provided with Class X/XII data.

3. For the students of 2004-2015, students of 2016-2018 who did not provide mobile no at the time of Class X/XII data or students who have changed their mobile nos.

(i) Such students can visit Parinam Manjusha website https://cbse.digitallocker.gov.in and link their Aadhaar to their account and get their digital documents by providing their roll number, class and year of examination.

(ii) Students who don’t possess Aadhaar or don’t remember their roll nos may approach to their schools directly or through their relatives to register themselves in order to get login credentials of Parinam Manjusha/DigiLocker. A link is being provided on CBSE website for the schools to register such candidates.

In case if any student finds any variation in his/her document, he/she may contact the CBSE Regional Office Thiruvananthapuram immediately giving roll number, name, class and year.

In case of any difficulty in Parinam Manjusha/DigiLocker account, students may write to support@digitallocker.gov.in giving roll number, name, class and year of exam.

Help in Affiliation Processes: In addition to the above, it has also been decided that all applications for extension of affiliation and up gradation will be processed immediately, provided the school has been running for the last five years and there is no complaint against the school. The last date for submitting school information at the Online Affiliated School Information System (OASIS) for affiliated schools in Kerala has also been extended upto 30th September 2018.

CBSE to conduct Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on 16th September, 2018 in 92 cities across the country

The Central Board of Secondary Education will be conducting the 11th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on 16/09/2018 (Sunday). The test will be conducted in 92 cities all over the country. The detailed Information Bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates will be available on CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in w.e.f. 12/06/2018 (Tuesday). The aspiring candidates are requested to download the Information Bulletin from above mentioned website only and read the same carefully before applying. The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in. The online application process will start from 22/06/2018 (Friday) onwards. The last date for submitting online application is 19/07/2018 (Thursday) and fee can be paid upto 21-07-2018 (Saturday) before 3.30.p.m.

Ministry of Human Resource Development Class XII results of CBSE declared; Trivandrum records highest pass percentage Girls record higher pass percentage than boys; Meghna Shrivastava tops the exam

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared Class XII results today. Trivandrum performed best amongst all regions with 97.32% pass percentage followed by Chennai region with 93.87% while Delhi stands at third position with 89% pass percentage. Total 11,06,772 students appeared in the exam out of which 9,18,763 students passed the exam. Overall pass percentage of this year is 83.01% which is nearly 1% more than last year.Meghna Shrivastava of Step by Step School, Sec-132, Taj Expressway, Noida, topped with 499 marks out of 500.Total pass percentage of boys is 78.99% while pass percentage of girls is 88.31% which is 9.32% better than boys.72,599 students scored more than 90% while 12,737 students scored more than 95% in this exam. This year CBSE conducted Class XII exam from 5th March, 2018 to 27th April, 2018.

Ministry of Human Resource Development HRD Ministry constitutes a High Powered Committee to examine the system of conducting Class X and Class XII examination to prevent leakages

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has constituted a High Powered Committee to examine the entire system of conducting Class X and Class XII examination conducted by the CBSE with a view to prevent leakages.

Shri Vinay Sheel Oberoi, Retd. Secretary (Higher Education), MHRD will be the Chairperson of the 7 member High Power Committee.

The terms of reference of the Committee are as under:

(a) To revisit all aspects related to the security checks built into the system for ensuring that the Question papers reach the examinees without tampering.

(b) To examine and assess all areas of potential weakness in the present system of transporting question papers from the printing presses to the examinees.

(c) To suggest ways in which the system can be made more secure with the use of technology and minimization of human intervention.

CBSE Scholarship for college and university students.

   Central Sector Scholarship for College and University Students passed Class XII in CBSE pattern.

   The Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Higher Education, Government of India has introduced a new scholarship scheme titled “Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students”.

OBJECTIVE:

   To provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low-income families to meet day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies.

SCOPE:

   The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the results of Senior Secondary Examination (class XII) of 10+2 pattern or equivalent. 82000 fresh scholarships per annum (41000 for boys and 41000 for girls) will be awarded for graduate / postgraduate studies in colleges and universities and for professional courses such as Medical, Engineering etc.

CBSE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR SINGLE GIRL CHILDREN.

1. Objective

   The objective of CBSE merit scholarship scheme is to provide scholarships to the meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents; and have passed the CBSE Class X Examination with 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks/ grades and are continuing their further school education of Class XI and XII. The scheme is aimed to recognize the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students.

   As per the approval of the Competent Authority dated 23.07.2012, all children born together are Single Girl Child of their parents.

2. Allocation of scholarship

   The number of scholarships for a particular year shall be variable and shall to awarded to all such "Single Girl Students" who have secured 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks / grades in the CBSE Class X Examination in that year.

CBSE to affiliate 5 Delhi schools with its international board

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will affiliate five schools in India with its ‘international board’. As many as 20 schools functioning in foreign countries are already affiliated with the CBSE International Board. Harmeet Kaur Waraich, principal of Nankana Sahib Public School, Ludhiana, said this after returning to the city from Bangalore, where she attended the 17th annual conference of CBSE Sahodaya School Complexes on December 20 and 21.

Waraich said: “This declaration was made by CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi and Head (Innovative and Research), CBSE, Dr Sahdna Parashar. After already affiliating 20 schools in foreign countries in the session 2010-2011, it now plans to include five schools of Delhi from the coming academic session on an experimental basis. If the feedback is satisfactory, more schools will be affiliated to the CBSEIB.”

The conference was attended by nearly 500 CBSE school principals from across the country, with five of them from Ludhiana.

Pramjit Kaur, principal of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, who also attended the conference, said: “Many key issues such as school-based assessments, addressing resistance to change, teacher empowerment, supporting teachers in implementing continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE), embedding technology in CCE environment, strengthening formative learning, responding to diversity through CCE, dimensions of co-scholastic skills and life skills education, were discussed.”

Waraich said: “It was also decided to start an online filing of CCE card from January 15 for Class IX and X.”

As you are aware that as per scheme of studies, a candidate is required to offer the following subjects at secondary School Examination (Class X) :

NOTE : Hindi and English must be one of the two languages to be studied in Class IX and X. Hindi and English can also be offered simultaneously. In Hindi and English, two courses have been provided for Class IX and X keeping in view the varying background of the student. A student may either opt Communicative‐English (subject code 101) or English Language and Literature (Subject Code 184). Similarly, in Hindi, a student may either opt for Hindi A (Code 085) or Hindi B (002).

02. Students may also offer any one of the following as an additional subject :

Language other than the two compulsory languages (offered as subjects of study)

OR

Commerce, Painting, Music, Home Science or Foundation of Information Technology

03. It has been observed that a number of schools allow their candidates to offer an additional subject and the same is entered against their names in the List of Candidates.However, it is understood, in a number of cases, the students are not taught the above subjects in the schools. This practice is against the norms of the Board. A school can offer only those subjects for which the school is having necessary infrastructure i.e. a qualified teacher and other facilities like laboratory etc and the candidate must be taught complete course of each subject including the additional subject.

04. I am writing to impress upon all Heads of Schools to ensure that candidates may be allowed to offer an additional (sixth) subject only if the school has necessary facilities such as a qualified teacher and laboratories etc. and the additional (sixth) subject must be given proper attention by the schools in case the students have been permitted to offer the subject in classes IX and X.

CBSE National Athletics from Dec 20

Over 3000 atheletes from CBSE schools will participate in the five-day CBSE National Athletics Championship to be held here from December 20.

The events which will be part of the championship are 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, relay, triple jump, long jump, high jump, shotput, discuss throw, and javelin throw, patron of the championship, George Kulangara told reporters here.

Labour India Public School is hosting the event.

For the successful completion of the event, a committee comprising of Dhronacharya awardee shooting coach Sunny Thomas as Chief Patron, George Kulangara, Santhosh George Kulangara (Chairman) has been constituted.

The logo for this year's CBSE National Athletic Championship was released by CBSE Chairman, Vineet Joshi.

In our continuous endeavour in improving the quality of education and connecting

to the latest trends, CBSE has recently revised the syllabus of Engineering Drawing and

changed its name to Engineering Graphics with the introduction of Computer Aided

Designing (CAD) in the syllabus.

CBSE is also in the process of preparation of text books of Engineering Graphics

for Classes XI and XII. Class XI text book is ready and will be available in CBSE

publication stores from the 1st week of October, 2010. Class XII text book is in the

process of development. Sincerest efforts are being made to make the Class XII text

book available to the students by November, 2010.

IIM Bangalore to train principals of CBSE schools

The CBSE has roped in IIM Bangalore to train principals of affiliated schools in efficiently managing reforms like replacing marks with grades and handling the continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) system.

The training programme will be especially aimed at principals of senior secondary schools, empowering them to manage the reforms introduced by CBSE in the last couple of years, Board officials said.

The training programme, scheduled early next year, will also introduce them to different modes of assessment – formative and summarative assessment, incorporating multiple intelligence conceptual framework for assessment and innovative ways of transaction.

The training component will also include identifying and implementing suitable systems of appraisal and evaluation of feedback for teachers and staff and role of technology in management of schools.

Contextualising the initiatives and flagship CBSE programmes like comprehensive schools health programmes, life skills programmes, adolescent education programmes and introduction of CCE and other alternative modes of assessment will also be included in the five-day-long programme, the officials said.

The training programme christened ‘Strategic Management and Leadership’ will also help the school heads develop systemic strategies and processes for managing key functional areas in schools, such as financial management and resource mobilisation, management of human resources and interpersonal relations and resolution of conflicts.
