In the modern and globalised world it is important that Government education system produces global citizen. Foreign languages are an important step towards this goal. The CBSE has recognized this fact and gives its student ample opportunity to pursue languages.
In order to cater to the diverse needs of students Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) offers 32 languages at the secondary and senior secondary level out of which 12 are foreign languages.
CBSE introduce languages based on the need and demand.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Human Resource Development Smt. D. Purandeswari, in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha yesterday.
