Employment Opportunities in Foreign Countries
The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy has said that the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is in consultation with Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) for collaboration to provide skill training for Indians who seek to migrate overseas. This Ministry has also drafted a new Scheme entitled ‘Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana’ which aims to provide pre departure orientation training programmes and language training course for potential migrants.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today the Minister said, MSDE is partnering with UK counterparts under the UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI). Under this initiative, Sector Skills Councils are working with UK organisations to ensure international equivalence of training standards. National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is also working with institutions in Canada and Australia to ensure that skill training in specific job roles is aligned to standards in these countries.
