Guidelines/Criteria for reimbursement of expenses for In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment to Railway beneficiaries.

Sub:- Guidelines/Criteria for reimbursement of expenses for In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment to Railway beneficiaries.

Ref:- Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s OM No. Z.15025/5/2011- CGHS III/CGHS(P) dated 22. 11.2011.

The issue of Iaying down an uniform guideline/criteria for reimbursement of expenses incurred on In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment of the Railway benefictaries has been engaging attention of Ministry of Railways for sometime. Matter has been examined in consultation with Finance Directorate in the Board’s Ollice.

After careful consideration in the matter, Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has decided to adopt the guidelines laid down by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for CGHS beneficiary vide their OM No. Z.15025/5/2011-CGHS III/CGHS(P) dated 22.11.2011 (copy enclosed) with the following modification:-

"Requesr for IVF treatment for Railway beneficiaries would be considered only on the basis of advice tendered by adequately qualified Government/Railway Gynaecologist and not from a CMP/Consultant. Permission for IVF procedure to be accorded by Chief Medical Director of the Zone in consultation with Associate Finance on receipt of advice for the same from Gynaecologist of Government/ Railway Hospital. Sanctioning Authority for sanction of reimbursement would be G.M Remaining terms and conditions as laid down in CHGS guidelines would remain the same”

This issue with the concurrence of Finance Directorate.
