Sub: Unjustified applicability of Railway Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008 to persons re-employed in Railway Service after retirement from Defence forces — reg.
The undersigned is directed to refer to your letter No. 11/35/Pt. IX dated 6/5/2013 and PNM agenda item No. 1/2013 on the above subject.
The matter was examined in consultation with the Finance Dte. and as the Board’s instructions dated 30/4/2009, the implementation of which is stated to have caused the grievance among the ex-servicemen re-employed in the Railways, is based on the instructions contained in DOP&T’S O.M. dated 4/11/2008, it was decided to forward a copy of NFIR’s reference to DOP&T and seek their comments thereon.
DOP&T have advised that the case may be examined in detail in consultation with the associate Finance and then referred to them with the full facts of the case.
To enable the case being examined further, it is requested that complete details reg. the case, giving a few illustrative examples of actual cases, bringing out clearly the contention reg. financial hardship suffered by the ex-servicemen consequent to implementation of instructions contained in Board’s letter No. PC-VI/2009/1/RSRP/2 dated 30/4/2009 may be furnished.
