Special compensation for families of defence martyrs

663 .SHRIMATI AMBIKA SONI

   (a) the cadre-wise and year-wise number of defence personnel who lost their lives during various operations during the last three years;

   (b) whether any special compensation in the form of additional pension and gratuity is proposed to be given to their families and dependents, if so, the details thereof; and

   (c) if so, by when final decision in this regard is likely to be taken?

   (a) Details of defence personnel who lost their lives during various operations during the last three years are as follows:

   (b) & (c): In case of death attributable to service, next of kin (NoKs) of the defence personnel are entitled for various additional benefits which include Special Family Pension, Liberalised Family Pension and Ex-gratia lump sum compensation. There is no fresh proposal under consideration for additional pension and gratuity over and above these benefits.
