Sub: CGHS Benefits – Fixing of terms and subscription rates for accredited journalists.
A communication has been received from the Office of Director (CGHS), Central Government Health Scheme, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi, vide their reference No. F.No. 7 – 1/99/C & P/CGHS/Pt. I/908 – 909 dated 30-03-2010 regarding procedure and benefits under the scheme for PIB accredited journalists. The relevant extracts are accordingly reproduced below:-
1. Procedure: -
Accredited journalist is required to submit the duly filled in form, which is available at Pensioner Cell, CGHS (HQ), 9, Bikaner House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi. The same can also be download from the CGHS Website http://mohfw.nic.in/cghsnew/index.asp.
The application from should be forwarded by Press Information Officer, PIB certifying that the applicant is a PIB accredited Journalist with I.D. No. and is required to be submitted to Pensioner Cell, CGHS (HQ), 9, Bikaner House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi alongwith the following documents:
i) Draft/IPO for Rs.1067/- for one year in favour of Pay & Accounts Officer, CGHS, New Delhi. The amount may be revised periodically, as per recommendations of the Cost & Accounts Branch, Department of Expenditure.
ii) One Photograph of Accredited Journalist.
iii) Residential Proof
iv) An undertaking to the effect that different amount on account of revision of the subscription, which is under consideration in pursuant of implementation of 6th Central Pay Commission, shall be paid by the accredited journalists.
2. Fresh CGHS cards will be issued only to the accredited Journalists. However, the old cards already issued to the accredited Journalists and their family members will be renewed until further orders.
3. The procedure for renewal of old CGHS Cards, already issued to accredited journalists having names of family members, is the same except individual photographs, which are to be given.
4. Details of the benefit:-
In addition to getting OPD treatment in their respective dispensaries, which is allotted to them according to their residential addresses given by them in their application form alongwith the residential proof, the accredited journalists are entitled to Nursing Home facilities in the Central Government Hospitals on the same conditions as are applicable to the Central Government servants (Annexure I & II).
