Amendment in Tatkal Scheme.

(Corrigendum to COMMERCIAL CIRCULAR NO.43 OF 2012)

Sub:- Amendment in Tatkal Scheme.

   Please refer to this office letter of even number dated 29.06.2012 (Commercial Circular No.43 of 2012) on the subject quoted above. Clarifications have been sought by Zonal Railways regarding booking of general tickets as mentioned in para 2 of these instructions.

   2. It is clarified that the restriction regarding booking of general tickets as mentioned in para 2 of Commercial Circular No.43 of 2012 refers to booking on the opening day by authorised agents, including agents of IRCTC and RTSAs/RTAs booking the reserved tickets through internet.

   3. Necessary instructions may please be issued to all concerned.

(COMMERCIAL CIRCULAR NO.43 OF 2012)

Sub: Amendment in Tatkal Scheme.

   It has been decided that with effect from 10.07.2012 booking of Tatkal tickets will start at 10: 00 hours on the previous day of journey from train originating station instead of 08: 00 hours at present.

   2. No authorised agents, including agents of IRCTC and RTSAs/RTAs will be allowed to book Tatkal tickets from 10:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs. The existing restriction of not allowing these agents booking of general tickets on the opening day from 08:00 hrs to 10:00 hours will also continue.

   3. Wide publicity may be given through all available means for information of general public to avoid inconvenience to them.
