Dated- February. 11,2012

The Chairman.
Railway Board.
New Delhi.

Dear Sir,
Sub:- Enhancement of advance reservation period to 120 days — Extension of validity period of Privilege Passes/PTOs to six months - Requested.

Ref:- Commercial Circular No.12 of 2012 — Railway Board’s letter No.2012/TG-I/20/P dated 06-02-2012.

The Railway Ministry has since decided that the advance reservation on Train accommodation has been increased from 90 to 120 days vide commercial circular No. l2of 2012.

In this connection, NFIR desires to convey that on Privilege Passes/PTOs, the availability is 4 months only. If the Railway employee wants to make advance reservation on the date of opening of reservation, he should have valid Pass/PTO prior to 120 days. whereas the Pass/PTOs validity itself is only four months.

In view of the above development, NFIR requests the Railway Board to review the matter and see that Privilege Pass/PTO availability period is revised to six months. This may be treated as important and urgent as number of employees are expressing concern as they fear that under the present validity period of Pass/PTO, they cannot think of securing reserved accommodation.

Yours faithfully,
