Sub:- Selection for promotion to Group ‘B’ posts of Assistant Law Officer.

   In terms of instructions contained in Board's letter of even number dated 04.02.2008 (RBE No.: 19/2008), the normal vacancies for Group’B’ post of Assistant Law Officer in scale Rs. 7500-12000 (V CPC) i.e. excluding those Group’B’ posts which were upgraded vide Board’s letter No. 2003E(GC)12- l4Pt.I(06) dated 09.3.2006, are to be filled by Chief Law Assistants in scale Rs. 7450-11500 (V CPC) with 3 years of regular service in the grade.

   2. Consequent upon implementation of the pay scales recommended by the VI Pay Commission and merger of the posts of Chief Law Assistants in scale Rs. 7450-11500 & Law Assistant in the scale of Rs. 6500-10,500 and redesignation of these posts as Chief Law Assistant, the matter regarding eligibility conditions for promotion to Group’B’ post of Assistant Law Officer has been considered by the Board. It has been decided that Chief Law Assistant in Pay Band PB-2 (Rs.9300-34,800) with Grade Pay of Rs.4600/- will be eligible to appear for Group 'B’ Selections for the post of Assistant Law Officer, provided they have rendered not less than 2 years of non-fortuitous service in the grade.

   3. The above instructions will be effective from the date of issue of this letter. However, selections which have already been finalized need not be disturbed.
