Revision of minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance.

Sub:  Revision of  minimum rates of  wages and Variable Dearness Allowance.

   Further to this Ministry's letter No.E (LL) 2009 /AT/MW/ l dated  30.11.2010 , a copy each  of  Orders  No . ( i ) 1/5 ( 3 ) / 2011-LS.II,(ii)1/5/(4)/2011-LS.II, (iii) No.1/5(5)/2011-LS.II, (iv) No.1/5/(6)/2011-LS.II and (v) No.1/5(7)/2011-LS.II dated 20.03.2011 received   from Ministry  of Labour &  Employment revising the  rates of  variable dearness allowance for contract workers engaged  in ( i )   Construction or  maintenance  of  roads or  in Building operations etc. ,  ( i i )stone mines for  stone breaking and stone crushing,  ( iii)  loading and unloading operations  in Railway Goods Sheds, Parcel Offices of Railways, (iv) sweeping and cleaning excluding activities prohibited under the Employment of Manual Scavengers and Construction of Dry Latrines (Prohibition) Act, 1993 and (v)  employment of  watch and ward respectively w.e.f.  01.04.2011 is  sent herewith for information, guidance and necessary action.

   This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
