The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Government of India, has invited proposals from professionals from the field of journalism, civil society and research and training in the field of Right to Information (RTI) for grant of five short-term fellowships.
The fellowships are for conducting field based research on issues relating to RTI. The fellowships will be under a plan scheme titled ‘Improving Transparency and Accountability in Government through effective Implementation of the Right to Information Act’. The primary goal of the scheme is to contribute towards more accountable and transparent government.
RTI fellowships would be granted for researching any theme relating to RTI with the objective of contributing towards better understanding of the successes of RTI and / or constraints in its implementation and as to how implementation of the Act could be strengthened.
Guidelines of the scheme and application form may be downloaded from DoPT’s Website http://www.persmin.nic.in. The applications must reach DoPT by 5 PM, Monday, 3rd January, 2011.
