Punjab CM agrees to set up pay anomalies committee with in a week
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Tuesday announced to set up a pay anomalies committee under the chairmanship of the senior bureaucrat in the rank of Financial Commissioner within a week.
An assurance to this effect was given by Badal to a delegation of Mulazam Wing of Shiromani Akali Dal led by its President and Chairman of the Punjab Mulazam Bhalai Board Mr. Surinder Singh Pehalwan in a meeting at Chief Minister's residence this morning.
Conceding the demands of the Mulazam Wing of SAD, Mr.Badal asked the Finance and Personnel Departments to jointly examine the demands pertaining to regularization of the adhoc and work charged employees with in the parameters of the laid down guidelines of the Supreme Court. He also asked his Principal Secretary Mr. DS Guru and the Principal Secretary School Education Mr. C Roul to finalize the modalities for the promotion of school teachers to headmasters to ensure these promotions to be effected positively by February 28, 2011. He also asked the Chief Secretary to get the demand of 20 years service for the benefit of full retrial benefits to the employees examined on the pattern of GoI.
The Chief Minister also asked the Chief Secretary to look into the issue of special pay scale and revision of allowances to be given to the staff nurses of the Health Department as per the recommendations of the Fifth Punjab Commission and resolve this issue at the earliest. Badal also assured the employees that their long pending issue of the Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme of 4-9-14 would be
resolved soon in the next cabinet meeting.
Badal reiterated that the state government was committed to safeguard the interests of its employees at all cost as they were the backbone of the state administration. He also said that the government was ready to resolve all pending employees' issues with an open mind and positive approach and asked the Chief Secretary to expedite the process for the payment of pay arrears to the employees as per the recommendations of the Punjab Fifth Pay Commission.
Prominent amongst others who attended the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister DS Guru, Secretary Finance VK Singh, Secretary Personnel Iqbal Singh Sidhu besides other senior Officers of the state administration. Mr. Harpal Singh Teja General Secretary of the Mulazam Wings of the SAD was also present in the meeting.
